How Hot Are Our Hotwings?

Oh God it's hot!!!
Alright, we admit it; we've got the hottest wings this side of hell.  Just ask our diners here at The Singing Pig BBQ Restaurant in Williams, Arizona.  They love 'em!

Jimmy & his wife Claudia came all the way from Taiwan to try our Hotwings (no, really!) ;)  and man were they ever in for a shock.

Water, please more water!  They couldn't finish the wing, it was that hot.  So how hot was it???
800,000 Scoville Units of heat - Now that's hot.  So hot, it'll bring tears to a grown man's eyes, not to mention his wife's.  You may be asking, "What's a Scoville unit?  Well, here's the information all about Scoville units. Click

So, we dare ya - can you eat the whole wing without flinching?  Come on in and give it a try.  Remember now, no flinching and no whining.

Restaurants - Arizona

The beautiful state of Arizona offers some of the best restaurants anywhere for your dining enjoyment - especially when it comes to BBQ Restaurants.  Here are a few tips in finding the Best BBQ Restaurants in Arizona:
  1. Ask how the meat is cooked.  What you're looking for is Smoked-BBQ from scratch, not Barbecue that is boiled, opened from a bag and cooked in an oven, or worse yet - cooked in a pressure cooker.
  2. Some restaurants will do the above and then put their meat on an outdoor BBQ for a few minutes to give the illusion that it's been cooked there the whole time.  Ask if it has.
  3. Look for quality cut ribs. With pork ribs you want Baby Back Ribs.  Yes they're more expensive, but you can't beat the taste.  You get what you pay for.  St. Louis Ribs are a less expensive cut of ribs and Back Ribs are not the same as Baby Back Ribs.
  4. Whether you prefer beef ribs or pork ribs is a matter of personal taste.  One is not better than another, it's just a matter of personal preference.
  5. Don't let the ambiance of a restaurant be your final decision maker as to whether you'll eat there or not.  Just because it looks like a million bucks doesn't necessarily mean their food tastes like a million bucks.  Some of the tiniest rib joints in America put out the best barbecue in the world.
  6. Look for small out-of-the-way BBQ places with great reputations.  Just ask around.  The locals know where the quality is.
  7. Check online for non-biased reviews of BBQ Restaurants.  Others before you will tell you what to expect from the restaurant you're considering.  Click here for reviews.
One of the best things about American BBQ is that it's supposed to be sloppy & yummy.  Who cares about whether it is served on fine china or a red basket, as long as it tastes good.  Just be sure to ask for lots of napkins and enjoy yourself with friends and family.  If you want REAL American food, then Barbecue is an old American tradition and one of the most authentic dishes you can find.

Happy eating and let's get sloppy at The Singing Pig BBQ Restaurant!  Best BBQ in Williams, Arizona.

Trivial Pigsuit

Here's a trivia question I'll bet you know the answer to about The Singing Pig BBQ Restaurant -

When did The Singing Pig first open?
a)  March 3, 2010
b)  March 1, 2011
c)  March 2, 2010
d)  None of the above.
e)  Oh wait, it was March 3, 2011

The correct answer is (b) March 1, 2011.  We opened during a very critical American recession and although many warned it couldn't be done during those economic times, we chose to ignore the fears and do it anyway.  We are now #2 on Trip Advisor and it's because of our wonderful customers that we are where we are today.  Thank you.  And thanks God.

Is Williams, AZ a Winter Wonderland, or not?

Is Williams, Arizona a Winter Wonderland? Or could it Be? Here's my thought - If Williams had some kind of transportation for the public, would more shops and restaurants stay open during the Polar Express because more people would come IN to town? Because I've got a solution. Please share this with friends and ask them to vote. YES (I want Williams to become a Winter Wonderland) or NO (It's fine just the way it is).

Maria Rocha Promoted to Kitchen Manager

She's funny, she's bright, she cares about the quality of staff and food at our restaurant; she's dependable, she's on time, she has a gift for excellent ideas and she's an amazing woman!  Maria Rocha has just been promoted to Kitchen Manager at The Singing Pig BBQ Restaurant and we are proud as can be to have her leading our staff.  Pictured here with her two children, Miguel & Elida she is married to a truly wonderful man, Mitchell Rocha.  Oh, and did we also say she's efficient, thorough, kind and has a great heart?  It's no wonder we promoted her at first opportunity because The Singing Pig BBQ Restaurant would not be where it is today without her guiding hand.  We love you Maria and are so proud of your many qualities and values.  We hope you'll be with us for a long time.  Thank you for all your hard work and dedication.  You are truly a jewel.

Voted Best Pulled Pork Sandwich in Williams, Arizona

This picture does not do justice to our amazing pulled pork sandwich.  I wish I were a better photographer.

Here's a little behind the scenes information on the restaurant diners love best in Williams:

Trip Advisor reviewers voted The Singing Pig BBQ Restaurant the best in Williams, Arizona.  Wow!  Thank you everybody.  Thought we'd give you a little background on one of the sandwiches that are making us famous.

Pictured is the Pulled Pork Sandwich piled high.  The bun is a Buffalo, New York original and is called a Kummelweck.  Sprinkled on the top are coarse ground Kosher salt and caraway seeds.  Inside this delicious 2 fister is of course the pulled pork, which is cooked low and slow for 12 hours and then mixed with our famous secret BBQ sauce.

So what's on the sandwich?
  • Yummy homemade creamy coleslaw; yes, on the sandwich.
  • About a half teaspoon of our house sauces, which include Tomatillo, Mayo-Horseradish, Maple-Mustard & Cranberry Chutney.
  • Just to keep the sandwich from getting TOO sloppy and to add a little flavor zing, we also include a slice of fresh cheddar cheese.
  • Fresh cut french fries.  Oh man, these are the best ever!
Now, for the more shy at heart, you can order this sandwich with french fries and coleslaw on the side, rather than piled high but we encourage you try it as designed at least once.

So, that's it for a little of our behind the scenes info about what makes The Singing Pig BBQ great!

Come on in today and enjoy a Pulled Pork Sandwich.  Only $7.95  Especially good when you bring a friend.

Love,
Kathi & Kevin
